I was writing this report for all of the Nestea Ice Activities done over the last 3 weeks. This is for our internal dissemination via our intranet. I wanted to give it a "back to school" spin just to give it a creative handle.

Anyway, the report will talk about sampling activations done in Glorietta (June 2-3), Metrowalk (June 10), Ateneo OrSem Viaje (June 13-15) and UP-Kalayaan Dorm Acquaintance Party (June 20).

I thought of this handle for the article: The Coca-Cola Company refreshes the Freshmen:
1. Glorietta Midnight Madness: back to school shopping
2. Metrowalk Activation: huling gimik before school opening
3. Ateneo OrSem: Freshmen Orientation
4. UP Kalayaan: Freshmen get-together at the dorm.

Nice spin, right?

I told the third party agency handling our mall/hotspot activation, the Ateneo OrSem committee to take pictures with students interacting with the products.

Awa ng Diyos, they didn't take interesting shots. Our third party agency took standard marketing report (branding shots) shots and yung sa OrSem ang pinadala nila, initially 5 shots na branding lang din. Ipapahabol na lang daw ang iba. As in pictures lang ng tents na nakatalikod ang tao, pictures ng sampling na maraming tao...walang touching interaction between the brand and the students.

Well I wanted the article released this week, because if it gets released it July, it's hard to put a back to school angle anymore. Good thing I saw the Glorietta activation, I was able to take decent shots.

Nanghihinayang ako with the Ateneo Event because it wasn't only Nestea Ice that had activities. It was a full-on Coca-Cola effort, as in we painted the school red with Coca-Cola and gave branding exposure to Nestea Ice, Coca-Cola light and POWERade. I had to battle it out with URC (makers of C2) just to prevent them from exposing any of their beverage brands. Unfortunately, I was busy that week, so I wasn't able to go and take the shots myself.. Although feedback from Kang (who hangs out at Ateneo) said that the company had good exposure.

So, resourceful me decided to do some research (don't you just love google?) and viola! I was led to a lot of blogsites, multiply sites, friendster accounts with a lot of pictures of OrSem volunteers and Ateneo Freshmen. At the back of my mind I was saying: "Sana may picture kayo sa Coke Lounge...sana may picture sila holding Nestea Ice, Coke light and POWERade" and I was able to come across really nice photos of consumers interacting with our brands. Not only that, I was able to get "quotable quotes" pa from their blog entries on how they were able to interact with our brands.

I think my article was really nice.

GUYS if you haven't tasted NESTEA ICE in Ready to Drink Bottles, I suggest you do coz it kicks ass! I'm so proud of this product. Comes in 3 variants: Nestea Lemon Iced Tea (which is the regular Nestea but in a bottle) and Nestea Lemon Iced Tea Ice and Nestea Lemon Green Tea Ice (Ice variants have extra cooling action)

Thanks!
